For FROZEN, we invite photographers to turn their lenses toward the distilled essence of winter—a season defined by stillness, subtlety, and transformation. Winter pares the world back to its essentials: the clean lines of a snow-blanketed landscape, the soft textures of frost and falling snow, the shimmer of ice catching morning light. We are drawn to images that hold this quiet beauty—whether it is the delicate fractals of frost on glass, the mist of breath in frigid air, a river locked in ice, or the serene geometry sculpted by snowdrifts at dawn.

This exhibition is open to a wide range of interpretations. Your work might be stark and minimal, reducing winter to its quiet forms and silences, or it might be rich with layered details, revealing the hidden textures and life that persist even in the coldest months. We encourage every photographic approach—black-and-white imagery that emphasizes tonal contrasts, vibrant color that captures the glint of sunlight on snow, or experimental techniques that reimagine what it means to see and feel winter.

We are delighted to announce that Paula Tognarelli will serve as juror for this exhibition. She will carefully review submissions and select up to 35 works to be presented in our Middlebury, Vermont Gallery, along with an additional 40 images chosen for inclusion in our Online Gallery. Together, these 75 photographs will be showcased in a beautifully designed exhibition catalog, remain permanently archived on our website, and be promoted widely across social media channels with direct links to the photographers’ websites.
