As part of our ongoing commitment to celebrating contemporary photography, Photo Artfolio invites photographers from across the globe to submit their work for The Human Portrait, an online exhibition dedicated to the richness and diversity of portraiture today. This exhibition aims to highlight how photographers use portraiture to explore identity, connection, and the human experience.
Portraiture has never been limited to a single style or setting. It exists in studios and on streets, in moments of collaboration and unexpected encounters, in carefully orchestrated compositions and experimental works that push the boundaries of what a portrait can be. Each approach offers a different way of seeing—and being seen.
We are seeking portraits that move beyond simple representation to reveal presence and depth. Images may convey emotion, vulnerability, tension, curiosity, or subtle moments of recognition, reflecting the many ways photographers engage with their subjects and interpret the world around them.
Submissions are welcome in all portrait-based photographic forms, including documentary, fine art, street, conceptual, experimental, self-portraiture, and hybrid practices. AI-generated imagery is not eligible for submission.
