To celebrate our continued commitment to showcasing contemporary photography, Photo Artfolio invites photographers worldwide to participate in The Human Portrait, a global online exhibition exploring portraiture as a deeply human and endlessly evolving form of expression.
The portrait has never existed as a single definition. It appears in studios and public spaces, in moments of collaboration and chance, in images that are meticulously constructed as well as those that emerge intuitively or experimentally. Portraiture has always been a site of inquiry—questioning identity, presence, and the relationship between photographer and subject.
For this exhibition, we seek portraits that reach beyond surface description to reveal something felt rather than simply seen. We are drawn to images that communicate emotion, tension, curiosity, intimacy, or quiet recognition—works that reflect how photographers engage with individuals and communities, and how they respond to the world around them.
Photographers are invited to submit work in all forms of portrait-based photography, including documentary, fine art, street, conceptual, experimental approaches, and self-portraiture, among others. AI-generated imagery will not be considered for this exhibition.
