Photographers wishing to participate are invited to submit one or more projects built around a strong thematic focus, narrative structure, or conceptual idea. There are no restrictions on style or methodology: submissions may range from classic photographic approaches to experimental, research-driven, or cross-disciplinary work. Each project must include between 5 and 20 images and should demonstrate both visual consistency and conceptual depth.
The main grant awards amount to a total of €10,000, distributed among the selected recipients. The First Prize will receive €5,000, followed by a €2,000 Second Prize and a €1,000 Third Prize. In parallel, the New Generation Prize will be awarded €2,000, recognizing emerging voices and supporting the development of new photographic practices.
In addition to the cash grants, the program offers significant international exhibition opportunities. One selected project will be realized as a solo exhibition at PhMuseum Lab in Bologna, Italy, in conjunction with ArteFiera 2027. All exhibition production costs, along with travel and accommodation expenses, will be fully covered.
Further selections will be made by partner institutions and curators. The PhEST team will choose one project for a solo exhibition at the 11th edition of the PhEST festival, taking place in Monopoli, Italy, in August 2026. Moreover, Maria Ptqk, Head Curator of Getxophoto, will select a project to be exhibited during the upcoming edition of the festival in Getxo, Basque Country, Spain, in June 2026. The selected artist will receive production support, an artist fee of €400, and accommodation for two nights during the festival’s Opening Week.
