OPPO has announced the return of its Photography Awards for 2025, a global initiative that continues to redefine how we think about mobile photography, visual culture, and digital storytelling. First launched to celebrate the artistic potential of smartphone imagery, the awards have quickly evolved into one of the most inclusive and influential platforms for emerging and established creatives alike.

The impact has been undeniable. With over one million submissions from 81 different regions in previous editions, the competition has given rise to a vibrant global community of storytellers—connected not by language or geography, but by their shared pursuit of meaning through image-making.

This year, OPPO expands the scope of the awards through new categories, designed to encourage experimentation and deeper engagement with subjects ranging from environmental storytelling to abstract visual expression. The launch of LUMO, OPPO’s new imaging brand, marks a further commitment to excellence in the intersection of technology and emotion.

Pete Lau, OPPO’s Senior VP and Chief Product Officer, describes the initiative as a way to “fuse the emotional resonance of photography with the intelligence of innovation.” The accompanying campaign slogan—“Make Your Moment”—challenges participants to treat everyday life as a canvas for creativity.
