Ten artists will be chosen by a panel of expert judges from among the many public applicants. Each selected artist will receive a 200,000 yen production subsidy to help bring their vision to life, along with the chance to present their work in an exhibition at a specially assigned venue.

These exhibitions will not only reach local audiences but will also be shared widely on the international stage through extensive media coverage, catalogue publication, and multiple forms of promotion. After viewing all of the exhibitions in person, the judging panel will select one standout artist as the award winner. This winner will receive a 500,000 yen grant and the prestigious opportunity to showcase their work in the official KYOTOGRAPHIE 2027 program.
