More than a decade ago, Open Doors Gallery began with a vision: to seek out and champion new voices in photography—those just beginning their artistic journeys, yet already pushing the limits of what photographic art can be. Since then, we’ve grown into a trusted space for discovery and mentorship, proudly showcasing some of the most original and boundary-pushing talent in the field.

From Kensuke Koike’s magical reconstructions that turn images into physical sculpture, to Maria Lax’s lush, dreamlike narratives that feel like scenes from lost films, we’ve supported artists who bring something truly special to the photographic medium. Artists like Sander Coers are expanding our understanding of photography altogether, venturing into conceptual realms and bold new territories.

Over the years, we’ve brought these artists to audiences through an exciting array of pop-ups, gallery presentations, and participation in leading art fairs—across London and beyond. We are dedicated to increasing visibility and creating meaningful opportunities for the artists we believe in.

The OD Photo Prize is our way of reaching even further—to seek out talent wherever it may be in the world, to invite artists into our growing network, and to offer them the tools and support needed to thrive over the long term. It is both a celebration and an extension of our enduring belief in the power of photography to move, challenge, and inspire.
