NYC4PA - "Reflections" International Juried Photography Call for Entry

The New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) is pleased to announce a new international call for photographic submissions centered around the captivating theme of “Reflections.” This opportunity is open to photographers working in any 2D photographic medium, including traditional and digital photography, image transfer, emulsion transfer, encaustic work, and more.

This juried competition offers $4,000 in cash prizes. Selected artists will be featured in the NYC4PA Online Gallery, and their work will be included in the organization’s Winners Catalog. One exceptional Grand Prize image will also be chosen for prominent display on the NYC4PA homepage, providing significant visibility.

Reflections are a rich and multifaceted visual subject. From the earliest moment a child gazes into a mirror and delights in the recognition of their own form, we develop a lifelong fascination with reflective surfaces. These moments evoke joy, surprise, and a deep sense of self-awareness. In art and photography, reflections allow us to multiply perspectives, challenge perception, and craft visually arresting compositions.

Submissions to this call may feature a wide range of reflective subjects. Images might include a person or object and its mirror image—or focus entirely on the reflection itself. The reflected surface may produce a crisp duplicate or present a distorted impression shaped by ripples, curves, or external textures. Whether found in water, glass, metal, or other surfaces, reflections have the ability to transform ordinary scenes into something extraordinary.

Photographers are encouraged to interpret the theme as broadly or specifically as they wish. NYC4PA welcomes all 2D photographic work created through any photographic technique. We look forward to reviewing your unique interpretation of the theme and discovering the many ways you see and capture the world of reflections.
