When it comes to showcasing the beauty and complexity of life as seen through a light microscope, Nikon's Small World is widely regarded as the most prominent venue. Anyone with an interest in photography and microscopy is welcome to enter the Photomicrography Competition. Any digital time-lapse or movie shot under a microscope is eligible for the Small World in Motion video competition.
In 1975, the Nikon Small World Competition was established as a means of recognizing and applauding the efforts of those involved in light microscope photography. Since that time, Small World has established itself as the premier showcase for photomicrographers working in the most diverse range of scientific fields.
