New York Center for Photographic Art - Colors of the Commonplace

The New York Center for Photographic Arts (NYC4PA) is extending an invitation to photographers worldwide to submit images utilizing any photographic process, including print, image transfer, emulsion transfer, encaustic, black and white, and more. Winners will have the chance to secure $4,000 in cash awards and will be prominently featured in the NYC4PA Online Gallery and the catalog for "COLORFUL WORLD OF THE COMMONPLACE." The Grand Prize-winning image will also be showcased on the NYC4PA home page.

COLORS OF THE COMMONPLACE

The term "commonplace" alludes to things we often overlook in our surroundings. Synonyms such as vanilla, customary, everyday, and mundane encompass objects like doors, buildings, benches, cars, teacups, and glasses—common sights encountered during walks, commutes, or routine activities. This call challenges photographers to capture the "COLORS of the Commonplace," transforming ordinary subjects into impactful, visually striking images.

Demonstrate your approach to meeting this challenge. As with all NYC4PA calls for entry, we welcome all 2D photographs.
