Welcome to the Queer Nature Photography Awards, an initiative that explores and celebrates the inspiring connections between queerness and the immense diversity of life on our planet. Nature is a tapestry of variation—an ever-evolving network of species, behaviors, and ecosystems that constantly reshape our understanding of what is possible. In many ways, the natural world quietly demonstrates that diversity is not the exception but the foundation of life itself.
Despite this, many of nature’s most fascinating stories remain unseen or misunderstood. Our mission is to create a platform where these stories can be shared through the powerful language of photography. By highlighting moments where biodiversity challenges rigid expectations and celebrates difference, we aim to foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world and for the diverse identities that exist within it.
We are excited to invite photographers from across the globe to take part in our second, expanded edition of the awards. Through your lens, you have the opportunity to reveal the ways in which nature resists simple categorization and instead offers a broader, richer understanding of identity, transformation, and coexistence.
Each photograph can become a powerful narrative—capturing the subtle connections between species, landscapes, and communities, and reflecting the resilience and beauty that emerge when diversity is allowed to flourish. By sharing these perspectives, we hope to build a visual celebration of life’s complexity and encourage viewers to see both nature and identity through a more open and inclusive lens.
