Beginning on July 2, 2023, the prize, which recognizes black-and-white photography by upcoming professional photographers, will be presented as part of the exhibit at the Stadtmuseum Hofheim am Taunus.
The Marta Hoepffner-Gesellschaft für Fotografie intends to support aspiring black-and-white photographers through the award of this prize. Also, the photographer Marta Hoepffner, who died in 2000, will be remembered, and interested people will get regular updates on the latest developments in black-and-white photography.
Light is the foundation of photography and a prerequisite for making images. Because it is always moving, it affects how things look and how we see them.
From the Corona pandemic to Russia's attack on Ukraine to climate change, a lot has changed our perception over the past three years. We have a different perspective on the world. We view ourselves and our surroundings in a different light. The theme allows for the use of all photographic styles: such as architecture, portrait, landscape, documentary, and experimental photography, among others.
