MoCP - Contemporary Photography Prize 2025

The Snider Prize is an important purchase award designed to recognize and support emerging artists during a critical stage in their careers—their final year of graduate study. Each year, one artist demonstrating outstanding potential is awarded $3,000. This prize money is dedicated to the purchase of their artwork, which is then added to the Museum of Contemporary Photography's (MoCP) permanent collection. In addition to the grand prize winner, two additional artists are recognized with honorable mentions, each receiving a $500 award. This funding allows for the acquisition of their work as well, expanding the museum's collection with a broader range of artistic voices and visions.

The Snider Prize was established through the generous support of Lawrence K. and Maxine Snider. Their enduring commitment to contemporary photography has made it possible for emerging photographers to receive meaningful recognition and financial support. By awarding these prizes, the MoCP actively demonstrates its dedication to fostering new artistic talent and ensuring the museum's collection continues to evolve with fresh perspectives and innovative approaches.
