MoCP - Contemporary Photography Prize 2025

The Snider Prize is an annual purchase award dedicated to recognizing and supporting emerging artists who are in the final year of their graduate studies. This prestigious honor provides meaningful financial support to talented individuals at a pivotal moment in their artistic journey. Each year, the recipient of the Snider Prize is awarded $3,000, which goes toward the acquisition of their work for the Museum of Contemporary Photography's (MoCP) esteemed permanent collection. In addition to the top prize, two honorable mentions are selected, with each receiving a $500 award to facilitate the purchase of their artistic creations for inclusion in the museum's collection. This initiative not only celebrates emerging talent but also ensures their work is preserved and appreciated within a major cultural institution.

The Snider Prize exists due to the thoughtful generosity of Lawrence K. and Maxine Snider, whose dedication to advancing contemporary photography has been instrumental in fostering fresh artistic voices. This award reflects the museum's unwavering commitment to identifying and nurturing emerging talent, ensuring that new ideas and creative expressions continue to shape the photographic landscape.
