The Rencontres d’Arles is proud to announce the 2025 Discovery Award, continuing its tradition of supporting and showcasing emerging talent in the world of photography. This award, part of the festival’s 56th edition, is designed to elevate the work of selected artists, offering both an exhibition and significant rewards. The Jury Award of €15,000 and the Public Award of €5,000 recognize the most compelling artistic contributions.

Since 2021, the Discovery Award has integrated a broader network of organizations that promote up-and-coming artists—galleries, community spaces, artist-run venues, and foundations. These organizations play a crucial role by nominating artists for the award, presenting exhibition proposals for projects they believe deserve international recognition.

Artists selected for the Discovery Award will be showcased in a special exhibition curated by the Rencontres d’Arles team, alongside an invited expert curator. The exhibition will be a platform for these emerging talents to introduce their work to a global audience, with prizes awarded during the festival’s opening week. A jury of art professionals will select the recipient of the Jury Award (€15,000 acquisition of artworks), while festival visitors will determine the Public Award (€5,000 acquisition).

By honoring both artists and the organizations that support them, the Discovery Award remains a key element of the Rencontres d’Arles, fostering the growth of new talent in contemporary photography.
