Leica, one of the world’s most respected names in photography, is opening the doors to a new creative adventure with the launch of its First Travel Photography Award. This competition extends an invitation to photographers throughout Latin America to celebrate the beauty of travel and the essential bond that links humanity with its cultural and natural surroundings.

The highlight of this inaugural award is the Human Connection category, which seeks to uncover photographic stories that merge narrative depth with visual artistry. Participants are encouraged to present series that not only demonstrate technical mastery but also evoke emotions, convey cultural authenticity, and reveal the extraordinary in everyday travel experiences.

This open call welcomes both established and emerging photographers between the ages of 18 and 60 who are committed to visual storytelling and have a strong portfolio in travel photography. Eligible participants include those of Latin American heritage, photographers from Spanish-speaking countries, and legal residents of these nations, excluding Brazil, Haiti, and Guyana.

To honor and reward exceptional talent, three winners will be chosen to receive remarkable prizes: state-of-the-art Leica cameras, exclusive travel experiences to Peru and Antarctica, and the invaluable recognition of having their work published in Luxury Travel Magazine.

The submissions will be reviewed by an international panel of judges comprised of acclaimed photographers, seasoned editors, and industry leaders, ensuring that the winning series reflect not only technical excellence but also the transformative power of travel photography.
