Leica Photography Award 2025

Across Latin America, photography has always been a powerful tool for storytelling, capturing the spirit of people and the landscapes that define their lives. With this tradition in mind, Leica introduces its First Travel Photography Award, a competition that aims to highlight the artistry and sensitivity of those who see travel not just as movement, but as a profound connection between people, cultures, and the natural world.

The award’s central theme, Human Connection, challenges participants to create photo series that go beyond the surface of travel. Each submission should reflect stories of authenticity, cultural richness, and emotional resonance—delivered with impeccable technical execution and artistic vision. These images should inspire viewers to see travel as a bridge that unites humanity with its environment.

The call is open to professional and emerging photographers aged 18 to 60 who have built a portfolio rooted in travel photography and storytelling. Eligible entrants include individuals of Latin American origin, photographers from Spanish-speaking nations, or legal residents of those countries—with the exceptions of Brazil, Haiti, and Guyana.

In recognition of outstanding creativity, three winners will be awarded with exceptional opportunities. These include the gift of Leica cameras, once-in-a-lifetime journeys to destinations such as Peru and Antarctica, and the chance to have their work featured in the prestigious Luxury Travel Magazine.

A distinguished international jury of photographers, editors, and experts will carefully review the submissions, ensuring that the selected works represent not only technical brilliance but also the deeper meaning of human connection through travel.
