The Le Stanze della Fotografia Foundation, together with the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, has launched a new cultural initiative that includes a free competition open to everyone. The project invites participants to explore the many meanings of water by submitting photographs, videos, and visual stories that reflect its importance within cultural landscapes, historical heritage, and local traditions.

Designed to preserve and promote the unique identity of territories and communities, the initiative encourages creative participation from photographers, videographers, students, artists, citizens, and anyone with an interest in storytelling. By collecting personal experiences, memories, and artistic interpretations, the project seeks to build a diverse archive of works that celebrate the relationship between people, landscapes, and water.

While the competition takes its inspiration from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, it embraces a much wider international perspective. Contributors are invited to look beyond the project's place of origin and consider the significance of water in other UNESCO World Heritage locations across Italy and the rest of the world, emphasizing both local and global connections.

The first edition is entirely dedicated to water, viewed not only as a natural resource but also as a cultural, artistic, and symbolic element. From rivers, lakes, vineyards, and agricultural systems to works of art, traditions, and community life, participants are encouraged to interpret the theme in original and meaningful ways that demonstrate water's enduring role in shaping landscapes and human experience.
