Launched by the Le Stanze della Fotografia Foundation in collaboration with the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, this project introduces a free international competition open to participants of all backgrounds. The initiative seeks to collect visual and narrative works that explore the theme of water within cultural, historical, and landscape heritage, encouraging contributors to share personal perspectives, stories, and creative interpretations.
Created to celebrate and preserve the memory, traditions, and identity of local communities, the project provides an inclusive platform where citizens, students, photographers, filmmakers, and visual storytellers can express their ideas through a wide variety of creative formats. By inviting diverse voices to participate, the organizers aim to foster dialogue, inspire reflection, and strengthen the connection between people and the places they inhabit.
Although the project begins in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, its vision extends far beyond this remarkable landscape. Participants are encouraged to explore the role of water in relation to other UNESCO World Heritage Sites across Italy and around the world, highlighting the many ways this essential element shapes both natural environments and human history.
For its inaugural edition, the competition focuses on water as a source of life, culture, and inspiration. Whether represented as rivers, lakes, rain, irrigation systems, artistic symbols, or cultural traditions, water is presented as a universal thread that connects landscapes, communities, and generations through photography, film, and visual storytelling.
