From the pool of applicants, ten artists will be chosen by a jury of experienced professionals. Each of these ten artists will be provided with a production subsidy of 200,000 yen, enabling them to develop and realize an exhibition project. The exhibitions will be presented at assigned venues across the city, offering unique contexts for the artists’ works.
To ensure broad visibility, the exhibitions will benefit from extensive dissemination both in Japan and abroad. This will include coordinated media coverage, the creation of a comprehensive exhibition catalogue, and a range of promotional activities. Once the exhibitions are installed, the judges will evaluate them on-site. One artist will then be selected as the recipient of the award, which includes a 500,000 yen grant and the exceptional opportunity to present a solo exhibition within the framework of KYOTOGRAPHIE 2027.
