Out of the many talented applicants, ten artists will be chosen by a panel of esteemed judges. These selected artists will each be awarded a 200,000 yen production subsidy and given the platform to showcase their creativity through an exhibition at an assigned venue.

Their exhibitions will be amplified far beyond the walls of their venues, reaching audiences in Japan and across the globe through media publicity, catalogue publication, and other promotional efforts. After experiencing the exhibitions in person, the judges will select one artist whose work stands out with exceptional vision and impact. This award-winning artist will receive a 500,000 yen grant and the prestigious opportunity to present their work as part of the official KYOTOGRAPHIE 2027 program — a milestone that can launch an international career.
