International Photography and Media Art Festival - Call for Entries

Ideas are the seeds from which the world grows. They build bridges between people, cultures, and generations—but they can also dig trenches, deepening divisions and reinforcing fear. Each morning, we awaken already carrying our ideas with us: the convictions we cling to, the biases we’ve absorbed, the hopes we nurture. Some push us to reach for the stars, to dream bigger, to reshape the world around us. Others anchor us, whispering doubt and dragging us into the comfort of stagnation.

The force of an idea cannot be understated. It can ignite revolutions or silence dissent. It can inspire innovation or breed destruction. And often, the most powerful ideas are the ones we no longer question—those so deeply ingrained that we no longer see them at all. These are the ideas that shape our reality in ways we rarely examine, influencing how we see ourselves, each other, and the future.

This theme—“Ideas. Creative and Destructive.”—is one that speaks to everyone. It is a theme of inquiry, of reflection, and of deep creative potential. What do we believe? What do we create? What mental and emotional legacies are we passing on, knowingly or unknowingly? For artists, the question becomes: How do your works function as containers of ideas? Are they vessels of challenge, resistance, liberation—or mirrors of conformity and fear? What do you break apart in your art, and what do you build in its place?

The IPMA Festival invites submissions from artists working across a range of mediums, including photography, video art, sound, installation, and interdisciplinary practices. We are seeking works that grapple with the theme’s central duality—projects that examine the power of ideas to transform, disrupt, inspire, or contain. Through this open call, we hope to showcase works that reveal the many layers of thought, emotion, and belief that inform and shape our lives.
