Are you an aspiring photographer aged between 18 and 30?

The Le Stanze della Fotografia Foundation invites you to participate in their open call!

This contest, coinciding with the upcoming exhibition "Helmut Newton: Legacy" arriving in Venice in March 2024, offers selected photographers the chance to showcase their work at the entrance of Le Stanze della Fotografia.

The primary goal of this initiative is to acknowledge the talent of emerging photographers, regardless of their professional status, and support them in their career journeys.

Participation in the open call is free and open to everyone, whether you're a seasoned professional or a passionate amateur. Each participant is required to submit three photographs that collectively narrate a story inspired by Helmut Newton's famous quote: "My job as a photographer is to seduce, entertain, and provoke."

The jury, comprising Matthias Harder (Director of the Helmut Newton Foundation), Denis Curti (Artistic Director of Le Stanze della Fotografia), Francesca Malgara (Artistic Director of MIA Photo Fair), and renowned photographer Maurizio Galimberti, will select the most compelling shots.

The exhibition featuring the works of the legendary fashion photographer was previously showcased at Palazzo Reale in Milan from March 24 to June 25, 2023. It is currently on display at the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome until March 10, 2024. Le Stanze della Fotografia will host the third and final stage of this grand retrospective on Helmut Newton in March 2024.
