The Photobook Dummy Award is one of the standout events at the Hong Kong Photobook Festival, designed to promote rising artists and give them exposure at international festivals. This year, as always, we welcome submissions from photographers, artists, and creatives worldwide. Thanks to the support of key partners, the shortlisted and winning photobook dummies from previous editions have been exhibited in a wide array of countries, such as New Zealand, Germany, India, Taiwan, Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy.

New to this year’s festival is the introduction of the "Photozine Award," aimed at fostering participation in the growing field of photozine creation, particularly among younger generations. This global open call features two categories: Open and Student, with the latter focused on entries from students across all levels of education.

The selection process will see a jury shortlisting up to 15 finalists for the Photobook Dummy Award, while the Photozine Award will have 10 finalists in both categories. Three winners will be selected for the Photobook Dummy Award, as well as three winners for each category of the Photozine Award.

Finalists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at the 2025 Hong Kong Photobook Festival, where they can engage with jurors and share their creative journeys with an international audience.
