The Photobook Dummy Award is a key event of the Hong Kong Photobook Festival, dedicated to supporting emerging artists by offering them a platform to showcase their talent on an international stage. This year, photographers, artists, and creatives from around the globe are once again encouraged to submit their works. Thanks to collaboration with various partners, the winning and shortlisted photobook dummies from previous years have been exhibited across the world, including destinations like New Zealand, Germany, India, Taiwan, Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy.
In addition to the Photobook Dummy Award, we are excited to introduce the new "Photozine Award" this year. The award aims to inspire more individuals, particularly young creatives, to explore the world of photozine creation and publication. Open to global submissions, the Photozine Award has two categories: Open and Student, with the latter specifically targeting works by students at all educational levels.
For the selection process, up to 15 finalists will be shortlisted in the first round of the Photobook Dummy Award, while the Photozine Award will shortlist 10 finalists per category. From these finalists, three winners will be chosen for the Photobook Dummy Award and each category of the Photozine Award.
All finalists’ works will be displayed at the Hong Kong Photobook Festival 2025, offering winners the opportunity to engage with the jury, exchange ideas, and share insights into their creative processes with festival attendees.
