The Photobook Dummy Award is a major feature of the Hong Kong Photobook Festival, created to spotlight emerging photographers and artists while providing them with the chance to showcase their work globally. This year, submissions are once again open to photographers, artists, and creatives from all around the world. With the backing of various international partners, the shortlisted and winning photobook dummies from past years have been featured in exhibitions in numerous locations, including New Zealand, Germany, India, Taiwan, Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy.

This year also marks the debut of the "Photozine Award," designed to encourage greater participation in photozine creation, with a special focus on engaging younger creators. The Photozine Award is open to global submissions and consists of two categories: Open and Student, with the latter encouraging submissions from students of all academic levels.

The jury for the Photobook Dummy Award will select up to 15 finalists in the initial round, while the Photozine Award will shortlist 10 finalists from each category. From these finalists, three winners will be selected for both the Photobook Dummy Award and each of the Photozine Award categories.

Finalists’ works will be exhibited at the Hong Kong Photobook Festival 2025, providing winners with a unique opportunity to connect with the jury, participate in professional exchanges, and share their creative processes with an international audience.
