Every two years, the international photography world turns its attention to Grand Prix Images Vevey, one of Europe’s most prestigious and long-standing photography competitions. With a substantial prize of 40,000 CHF, this award serves as a springboard for photographers and visual artists looking to realize their most ambitious creative projects. The competition draws applicants from all corners of the world, each eager to bring their unique perspective and artistic vision to life.
Winning the Grand Prix is more than just receiving financial support—it’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact. The selected project will have the chance to be developed over the course of one year before being unveiled at the highly regarded Biennale Images Vevey 2026, a major international event that celebrates cutting-edge photography and visual storytelling.
How the Selection Process Works:
Call for Entries: Between 13 January and 25 February 2025, photographers and artists can submit their project proposals via Picter, an online platform for creative competitions. Applicants must provide an initial concept that highlights the originality, artistic value, and feasibility of their vision.
Shortlisting Process: A pre-jury of experts meticulously reviews all submissions, evaluating their artistic potential, storytelling strength, and innovative approach. By the end of the selection phase, up to 35 projects will be chosen to advance to the next stage.
Finalizing the Proposals: The shortlisted artists will then be invited to submit a fully developed project file on Picter by 22 April 2025. At this stage, applicants refine their proposals, adding additional visual materials, technical details, and conceptual frameworks to strengthen their submission.
Jury Deliberation: On 11 May 2025, an international jury, composed of esteemed professionals from the world of photography, art, and visual culture, will convene to evaluate the shortlisted projects. After careful consideration, they will select the winning project that best represents innovation, artistic excellence, and cultural relevance.
Project Completion and Exhibition: The chosen artist is then given one full year to bring their vision to life, with the financial and institutional support of Images Vevey. The final completed work will debut at the Biennale Images Vevey 2026, where it will be presented to a global audience of curators, collectors, industry professionals, and photography enthusiasts.
The Grand Prix Images Vevey is more than just a competition—it is a platform for artistic growth and discovery, where visionary photographers and artists can turn their creative dreams into reality.
