The Global Peace Photo Award—originally established as the Alfred Fried Photography Award—has evolved into a globally recognized platform for photographers who seek to portray the values of peace, coexistence, and human dignity through their work. This award is the result of an extensive partnership spearheaded by Edition Lammerhuber, an influential force in the world of visual publishing. It is co-organized and supported by a wide network of influential organizations: the Photographische Gesellschaft (PHG), UNESCO, the Austrian Parliament, and the Austrian Parliamentary Reporting Association, among others. Adding to its international stature, the award is further bolstered by collaborations with the International Press Institute (IPI), the World Press Photo Foundation, POY LATAM, and LensCulture—leaders in global journalism and photography. National and international media institutions such as APA – Austria Presse Agentur and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh) e.V., alongside humanitarian and corporate supporters like UNICEF Austria and the Vienna Insurance Group, also play a vital role. Collectively, these partners ensure that the Global Peace Photo Award continues to inspire, connect, and amplify the voices of photographers who envision a more peaceful world.
