Once known as the Alfred Fried Photography Award, the Global Peace Photo Award brings together a powerful coalition of global organizations committed to celebrating peace through the lens of photography. This inspiring initiative is led by Edition Lammerhuber, with strong support from a host of respected institutions including the Photographische Gesellschaft (PHG) and UNESCO. It's also backed by the Austrian Parliament and its Parliamentary Reporting Association, reflecting national commitment to peace and cultural expression. The award garners further support from international journalism and photography powerhouses such as the International Press Institute (IPI), World Press Photo Foundation, POY LATAM, and LensCulture. With the additional involvement of APA – Austria Presse Agentur, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh) e.V., UNICEF Austria, and the Vienna Insurance Group, the Global Peace Photo Award stands as a truly collaborative and meaningful effort to spotlight images that convey hope, humanity, and harmony across borders.
