In an era where authentic imagery shapes perspectives and drives change, Getty Images remains committed to supporting creative talent by providing financial resources for impactful projects. Research from Getty Images’ VisualGPS shows that 2 out of 3 Americans believe diverse media representation fosters greater understanding. Yet, 75% of images featuring people with disabilities depict them in healthcare settings rather than in everyday life.
To advance inclusivity, Getty Images has joined forces with Verizon and the National Disability Leadership Alliance (NDLA) to enhance diversity in commercial photography and videography. Through the Disability in Focus: Navigating Work Life Creative Grant, the company offers funding and mentorship to artists dedicated to portraying people with disabilities in authentic, everyday scenarios—including professional settings.
