The GFX Challenge Grant Program, sponsored by FUJIFILM, was established in 2021 to support the next generation of visual storytellers by helping ambitious creative projects become reality. Each edition of the program awards five Global Grant Awards and ten Regional Grant Awards, providing selected participants with financial support, professional resources, and access to the renowned FUJIFILM GFX System. Recipients will also have the opportunity to work with the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55, the dedicated filmmaking camera introduced last year, allowing creators to expand their artistic vision using cutting-edge imaging technology.
The program welcomes proposals in both still photography and motion picture formats, encouraging photographers, filmmakers, and multidisciplinary artists to explore subjects that are personally meaningful and socially relevant. Whether documenting communities, creating conceptual narratives, capturing environmental stories, or experimenting with new visual techniques, participants are invited to develop projects that reflect their unique creative voice while gaining valuable production experience with Fujifilm equipment.
Upon completion of the production period in May 2027, all award recipients will present their finished projects through the fujifilm-x.com website, providing worldwide exposure to an international audience. In addition, a series of exhibitions is planned in multiple countries, giving selected artists the opportunity to showcase their work in physical venues and connect with photography and filmmaking communities around the world.
Creators with bold ideas are encouraged to apply for the chance to receive either a $10,000 Global Grant Award or a $5,000 Regional Grant Award. The GFX Challenge Grant Program offers more than financial assistance—it provides mentorship, professional recognition, international visibility, and the resources needed to transform an inspiring concept into a completed visual project.
