Festival Della Fotografia Etica - World Report Award | Documenting Humanity 2026

The World Report Award | Documenting Humanity champions photography as a vital tool for renewed social engagement and collective awareness. Open to professional and amateur photographers from around the globe, the award highlights visual stories that focus on people and the social and cultural realities that shape their lives. These stories may unfold through public events or private experiences, through small, everyday gestures or pivotal historical moments, through accounts of human suffering or quiet, intimate connections. The award also strongly encourages projects addressing environmental issues, wildlife conservation, and solution-based approaches within contemporary photojournalism.

Each year, the competition brings together a diverse and compelling selection of projects, creating a broad visual landscape that celebrates the highest standards of documentary photography and photojournalism. The World Report Award | Documenting Humanity is not simply a contest that offers financial prizes to support photographers working in complex and often challenging environments. It also serves as an entry point into a deeply rooted, collaborative international community that has grown over the past fifteen years and remains actively involved in the organization’s initiatives.

Organized by the Festival of Ethical Photography, founded in 2010, the award reflects the Festival’s mission to foreground ethically significant content and to bring pressing social issues closer to the general public. The Festival is built on the belief that photography plays a crucial role in revealing injustice and shaping public consciousness, and it seeks to explore the evolving relationship between ethics, communication, and visual culture through a multifaceted and innovative program.

The Festival includes more than twenty exhibitions by internationally acclaimed photographers, alongside an extensive program of talks, workshops, portfolio reviews, screenings, book presentations, photography labs, and educational activities for students. Beyond the annual fall event, the Festival’s team works continuously throughout the year to promote photographers’ work, amplify their voices, and ensure that their stories remain present in the global conversation.
