The EVI MONO AWARDS is an international monochrome photography competition created to celebrate women, their experiences, and the many stories that shape their lives. Open to photographers from every corner of the world, the award encourages artists to use the timeless language of black and white photography to explore the diverse realities, emotions, and perspectives of women across cultures and generations.

Whether documenting real-life moments or creating imaginative visual narratives, participants are invited to submit projects that reflect authenticity, creativity, and a strong personal vision. The inaugural edition of the competition features two distinct categories:

• Documentary

• Conceptual

The award embraces a wide range of themes connected to women’s lives, including identity, memory, relationships, resilience, personal experiences, social issues, the human body, silence, transformation, and the beauty of everyday life. Photographers are encouraged to present meaningful stories that resonate through compelling monochrome imagery and thoughtful visual storytelling.

To preserve the integrity of the competition, AI-generated images are not accepted. All submitted photographs must be created by the entrant without the use of artificial intelligence image generation.

Participation in the EVI MONO AWARDS is completely free, with no entry or submission fees, making the competition accessible to photographers at every stage of their careers.

Award winners, honourable mentions, and a selection of outstanding entries will be showcased online through the competition's official website and social media platforms, providing international exposure for participating artists. In addition, selected works may be considered for publication by media partners, including FRAMES Magazine, offering further opportunities for recognition within the photography community.

Entries will be reviewed by an international jury composed of photographers, artists, curators, and visual professionals representing a variety of countries, backgrounds, and creative disciplines. Based in Dublin and developed with a global outlook, the EVI MONO AWARDS aims to become a meaningful platform for powerful monochrome photography dedicated to women's stories.
