The EVI MONO AWARDS is a new international award dedicated to monochrome photography that places women and their stories at the center of its vision. Open to photographers from around the globe, the competition encourages artists to use black and white photography as a powerful medium for exploring the richness, complexity, and diversity of women's lives.

From intimate personal moments to broader social narratives, participants are invited to submit photographs that demonstrate originality, authenticity, and a distinctive visual voice. The first edition of the award is divided into two categories:

• Documentary

• Conceptual

The competition welcomes a wide variety of interpretations. Images may focus on identity, memory, lived experiences, resilience, relationships, social issues, the body, silence, family, community, or the quiet details of everyday life. Above all, the EVI MONO AWARDS celebrates honest storytelling and meaningful photographic expression through monochrome imagery.

To ensure the integrity of the competition, artificial intelligence-generated images are strictly prohibited. Only original photographic works are eligible for consideration.

The award is designed to be accessible to photographers everywhere, with no participation costs and no submission fees required to enter.

Photographers whose work is selected will gain valuable international visibility. Winners, honourable mentions, and other outstanding entries will be exhibited online through the official award website and promoted via social media. Selected photographs may also benefit from publication opportunities with respected media partners, including FRAMES Magazine, helping artists expand their professional reach.

All submissions will be reviewed by an international jury consisting of experienced photographers, artists, curators, and visual professionals representing a broad range of countries and creative disciplines. Headquartered in Dublin and developed with a global perspective, the EVI MONO AWARDS aims to establish itself as an international platform celebrating exceptional black and white photography dedicated to women's stories and experiences.
