Eidolon Centre for Everyday Photography - Grant 2025

Eidolon proudly announces the launch of the Eidolon Grant 2025, an international funding program dedicated to the study, preservation, and interpretation of vernacular photography. With €25,000 in available funding, this initiative supports projects that contribute to the critical understanding of everyday photographic practices, both historical and contemporary. Applications are open until August 31.

The grant is designed for artists, researchers, curators, academics, and photography professionals whose work delves into the significance of vernacular imagery—whether by analyzing evolving digital image cultures or uncovering hidden histories within analog archives.

Our mission is to foster dialogue around photographic heritage and contemporary imaging trends. The selected projects will be instrumental in expanding our institution’s program and contributing to broader discussions on visual culture.

Categories of Support:

📌 Contemporary Everyday Photographic Cultures – Researching digital photography’s socio-cultural impact, networked image sharing, and the intersection of visual communication, identity, and technology.

📌 Everyday Photographs of the Past – Examining 19th and 20th-century vernacular photography through archives, collections, and photographic apparatus development, reflecting on their relevance today.

We welcome proposals that offer fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to the study of vernacular photography. Join us in preserving and interpreting the images that define everyday life across generations.
