Eidolon Centre for Everyday Photography - Grant 2025

Eidolon is pleased to announce that the Eidolon Grant 2025, our international funding initiative dedicated to the exploration, promotion, and preservation of vernacular photography, is now open for applications.

With a total of €25,000 available, submissions are invited in two categories. The deadline to apply is August 31.

This annual grant supports artists, academics, researchers, collectors, and professionals whose work contributes to the study and appreciation of everyday photography. By identifying key themes, collections, and evolving trends in vernacular photography, we aim to foster fresh interpretations and critical discussions.

Each selected project will play a vital role in shaping our institution’s programming for the coming year. Our mission is to highlight the historical significance of everyday photography while also addressing its evolving role in contemporary image culture.

Two Grant Categories:

📸 Contemporary Everyday Photographic Cultures – Projects that critically engage with digital images, social media, and networked visual culture, exploring their social, political, and aesthetic dimensions.

📷 Everyday Photographs of the Past – Projects that examine 19th and 20th-century vernacular photography through public and private archives, reflecting on collective memory, photographic heritage, and the role of past image practices in contemporary society.

We welcome innovative and insightful proposals that contribute to the ongoing conversation about vernacular photography.
