EAAF Migratory Bird Conservation - International Youth Photo Contest

The East Asian–Australasian Flyway is a major migratory route that spans 22 countries and supports the movement of approximately 50 million waterbirds annually. This migration is not only a remarkable natural phenomenon but also a critical component of global biodiversity. Preserving the habitats and ecosystems along this flyway is essential to maintaining ecological balance. As youth, we represent the next generation of conservationists, scientists, and advocates. It is crucial that we become engaged in environmental efforts early on. Photography, a tool that bridges the gap between art and science, offers a compelling method for young people to engage with the natural world. By photographing migratory birds, we learn to observe behavior, notice ecological changes, and appreciate biodiversity. This youth-focused photography contest aims to foster such engagement, providing a platform for young people to explore and express their interest in nature. The resulting exhibitions not only highlight youth talent but also promote awareness and participation in ecological conservation efforts across communities.
