Sixteen years ago, the Expert Imaging and Sound Association established the EISA Photo Maestro with the goal of inspiring and supporting both amateur and semi-professional photographers. The competition was designed to encourage participants to move beyond single images and instead create cohesive series of photographs that are meaningfully connected. In doing so, photographers are invited to approach their work with a documentary mindset, exploring subjects in depth while maintaining a high degree of creative freedom. This balance allows each participant to interpret the annual theme in a personal and distinctive way.

Over the years, themes such as ‘Water,’ ‘Transport,’ and ‘My Country’ have contributed to the growing popularity of the EISA Maestro, attracting participants from across the globe. The competition quickly gained recognition for its ability to challenge photographers creatively while offering an engaging platform for storytelling through images. Beyond the artistic appeal, the prestige of the awards has been significantly enhanced by tangible rewards, including prize money, a trophy, and an invitation to attend the official award ceremony. Above all, winners gain international recognition through the highly respected title of Photo Maestro of the Year.
