Decode Gallery is now accepting submissions for a juried photography exhibition with a focus on the square format. This call is open to photographers working in any genre—from traditional landscapes and portraits to documentary, architecture, abstract, or conceptual work. We're looking for images that make thoughtful and creative use of the square frame.

The square format offers a unique compositional challenge that encourages visual balance and experimentation. Whether your image emphasizes minimalism, symmetry, or complexity, we want to see how you’ve explored this format in your practice.

Twelve photographers will be selected for exhibition at Decode Gallery. We will handle all printing free of charge, using professional Epson printers on Ilford Pearl paper to ensure excellent quality and presentation. Only one print will be made per accepted image. After the exhibition, prints will be archived for 6 months in our flat files.

All works will be exhibited in 14”x14” museum-quality frames with mats cut to 7”x7”, providing a clean and elegant presentation of each piece.

Photographers may choose to list their exhibition print for sale. In the event of a sale inquiry, we will contact the photographer directly. The artist retains all rights to their work. Decode Gallery takes a 50% commission on sales, with the remaining 50% going to the photographer.

Notifications of acceptance will be emailed within two weeks of the submission deadline. We look forward to seeing how photographers are engaging with the square format in today’s visual landscape.
