We are delighted to announce our upcoming Self Portrait Photography Call, dedicated to the powerful and continually evolving tradition of photographic self-representation.

For an artist, creating a self portrait can become a process of discovery. The camera becomes a tool for reflection, allowing photographers to investigate who they are, how they perceive themselves, and how they wish to be seen. A self portrait can capture a moment in time, document a transformation, express an emotion, or construct an entirely imagined version of the self.

We encourage photographers to move beyond conventional portraits and explore the creative possibilities of self representation. Experiment with identity, body, space, light, color, texture, symbolism, and narrative. Whether your approach is documentary, conceptual, abstract, staged, experimental, or deeply personal, we want to see how you use photography to tell your story.

Every self portrait contains a relationship between the person behind the camera and the person in front of it. That relationship can reveal something unexpected, intimate, or thought-provoking about the artist and their experience of the world.
