Decode Gallery is delighted to introduce our upcoming exhibition theme: Black and White. This timeless aesthetic has stood as the foundation of photography since the medium's inception. Before the advent of color, photographers were challenged to convey mood, story, and texture purely through tone, contrast, and composition. Black and White photography speaks to the soul with its stripped-down simplicity and elegance, evoking emotion in every subtle shade of gray. We invite photographers to explore this rich monochromatic world through their unique perspectives. Let us see how you capture light, shadow, and emotion—without the distraction of color.
Juror:
We are honored to have Holly Hart as the juror for this exhibit. Holly is a seasoned fine art photographer with roots in Southern Oregon. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Photography from the Art Institute of Seattle in 2011. Since then, her work has appeared in numerous publications and been featured in gallery exhibitions across the United States. Holly’s deep appreciation for the expressive power of photography led her to establish Decode Gallery. Her mission has always been to create meaningful opportunities for photographers to showcase their art, and this exhibition continues that tradition.
