Portraiture often focuses on how someone looks. This exhibition is interested in something else: what cannot be immediately seen.

We are seeking photographs that suggest an inner world rather than simply documenting outward identity. Images that carry psychological tension, ambiguity, vulnerability, or contradiction are central to this call. We are not looking for straightforward likenesses. We are looking for work that conveys presence—something felt rather than fully explained.

Submissions that rely heavily on dramatic styling, sentimental narratives, or literal interpretations of the theme are unlikely to be selected. Stronger consideration will be given to work that embraces subtlety, complexity, and openness.

This is a highly selective exhibition. Only about 10–12% of submissions will be accepted. To maintain transparency, we will share the total number of submissions and the final acceptance rate at the time of selection.

Each selected artist will exhibit one image, ensuring a focused and balanced presentation across the exhibition.
