Home is both a physical place and an emotional state. It can be the ground where you were born, the country you left in search of something new, the familiar rooms where you grew up, or the destination you continue to dream about. Home might be a building with walls, but it might also be a feeling that travels with you throughout your life.
It may take the form of a childhood home full of routines and rituals, a temporary shelter that provided comfort during a difficult moment, or a space that exists only in memory or imagination. Sometimes home is found in the things we miss, the things we hope for, the people we love, or the communities we build.
Home can manifest as a country or a kitchen, a neighborhood or a person, a landscape or a single city block. It can emerge through sensations—love, safety, distance, exile, renewal, or the act of returning after being away.
Photographers from around the world are invited to interpret The Art of Belonging in whatever photographic style speaks to them—whether documentary realism, fine art exploration, portraiture, conceptual work, abstraction, architectural study, environmental observation, or experimental forms. All approaches are encouraged, and all perspectives are valued.
