Some photographs function as thresholds—spaces of transition rather than resolution.
They position the viewer at a boundary: between here and elsewhere, before and after, known and unknown. These images hold a sense of suspension, where meaning is not fixed but in the process of becoming.
PORTAL seeks works that engage with this condition of passage. Transformation may be suggested through physical elements such as doors, openings, or pathways, but it may also emerge through more subtle means—through light, composition, or an underlying emotional tension within the frame.
The idea of a portal does not require a literal form. It can exist as a psychological or atmospheric space, where the viewer senses a shift, an entry point, or a moment of crossing.
We are interested in photographs that evoke the experience of standing at an edge—where something is about to unfold, but has not yet revealed itself.
This will be a tightly curated exhibition, with no more than 60 works selected, allowing for a precise and intentional exploration of the theme.
