From the smallest details in nature to the grand designs of human civilization, patterns surround us, guiding our perception and sparking our curiosity. Consider the fractals etched into the spirals of a fern leaf, each layer mirroring the next in infinite complexity. Or look to the systematic layout of city streets—grids imposed by human intent, echoing a desire for order and predictability. Even in places touched by time and wear, like corroded metal or peeling paint, there is texture, rhythm, and a strange kind of beauty. In the animal kingdom, patterns emerge again—zebra stripes, butterfly wings, and leopard spots—all speaking to symmetry, function, and survival. Patterns are everywhere, not merely as repetitions but as clues to deeper systems, showing us that behind randomness often lies an elegant, often surprising, sense of design.
