NIGHT WORKS invites photographers to submit images created after dark—images in which night is not merely a backdrop, but an active collaborator shaping the mood, rhythm, and meaning of the photograph. These works may be dramatic or quiet, expansive or intimate, situated in urban streets or remote rural spaces. They may include human presence or embrace solitude. Artists may choose to explore artificial illumination, extended exposures, ambient glow, shadow, or near-total darkness. The subject itself is secondary; what matters most is how night influences the image and transforms the act of seeing.
We welcome all photographic approaches, including fine art, documentary, conceptual, staged, and experimental practices. Diverse interpretations and techniques are encouraged.
Announcement of Selected Entries: April 15
Exhibition Dates: April 20 – June 20
All selected photographers will receive:
Inclusion in the Night Works online exhibition
A digital exhibition badge and a printable certificate of participation
Promotion across Decagon Gallery’s social media platforms
Inclusion in the official exhibition catalog and accompanying YouTube video
All submitted images must have been made at night or clearly convey nighttime conditions.
