The free New York Portfolio Review, presented by The New York Times photo department, Photoville, and the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, is now open for applications.
In its 12th year, the event will be held on April 26 and 27, 2025, bringing 160 photographers together with 80 distinguished photo editors, publishers, and curators.
This year’s review will feature both in-person and remote options to maximize accessibility. The in-person review will occur in New York on Saturday, April 26, and the virtual review will be hosted on Zoom on Sunday, April 27. Applicants may select either the in-person or virtual review but cannot participate in both or change their preference after submission.
The review welcomes applicants aged 18 and older. While the focus is on photojournalism, editorial, and documentary photography, work from all genres will be considered.
