Black Box Gallery is delighted to announce an upcoming juried group show dedicated to color in photography, one of the most expressive tools available to visual artists today. Color photography offers endless possibilities, encompassing genres as wide-ranging as landscapes filled with light and shadow, portraits saturated with emotion, architecture defined by contrast and tone, fashion bursting with energy, or street photography infused with raw immediacy. It thrives equally in abstract explorations, documentary projects, conceptual series, still lifes, and images of nature or the night sky. Each application of color carries with it the power to captivate, persuade, and reveal unseen dimensions of the world.
This exhibition provides an open platform for photographers to showcase their own unique approaches to color. The call asks participants to consider: how do you employ color as a language, a structure, or a style? How do colors shift meaning in your images, heighten emotion, or guide the eye through composition? In assembling this show, we aim to celebrate the immense variety of perspectives and practices that define contemporary color photography today.
