After a celebrated debut, the Cluster Artist-in-Residence program returns with even greater purpose: to uplift new voices in photography by providing them with the support they need to truly thrive. With an unwavering belief in the power of emerging artists, Cluster has built a residency model that places creatives at its heart. It’s not just about exposure—it’s about giving artists the tools, mentorship, and encouragement they need to build careers on their own terms.
Taking place in East London, this immersive, four-week residency is fully funded and thoughtfully structured to remove barriers. Artists receive access to a private studio, comfortable accommodation, and production support that allows them to fully realize their vision. The residency also includes one-on-one mentorship with top-tier professionals from across the photography and visual arts industries. Every logistical need—from materials to transport to food—is fully covered, allowing artists to pour their energy into their creative work without distraction.
The experience culminates in two powerful platforms: a solo exhibition showcasing the artist’s residency work, and participation in the prestigious Cluster fair. These events offer invaluable exposure and the chance to connect directly with influential figures across the industry—people who can open doors and shape futures.
But what truly sets the Cluster Residency apart is its broader vision. We recognize that every artist who applies is part of a thriving creative ecosystem, and we are committed to fostering opportunities beyond the residency itself. By sharing our application pool with trusted partners—including agencies, galleries, and photography organizations—we aim to spark future commissions, collaborations, and connections. Because at Cluster, we believe talent should never go unseen.
