Following the success of its inaugural edition, the Cluster Artist-in-Residence program proudly returns with renewed commitment to its core mission: nurturing and empowering emerging talent within the field of photography. By embracing an artist-first ethos, the residency offers a comprehensive and thoughtfully curated framework of support—one that prioritizes the individual needs of each participant. Through personalized mentorship, strategic professional development, and access to valuable industry networks, the program is designed to help shape and elevate the next chapter of each artist’s creative journey.
Held over a four-week period in vibrant East London, the residency is fully funded and includes a private studio, accommodation, and production assistance. Artists will receive tailored guidance from leading industry professionals, ensuring they are not only creatively supported but also equipped with the tools necessary for long-term success. In addition, all material costs, transportation, and food are fully covered, allowing participants to focus entirely on their work without financial burden.
The residency culminates in a solo exhibition, providing a critical platform for the artist to showcase their work to an engaged audience. Participants also take part in the Cluster Photography Fair, gaining direct exposure to influential curators, gallerists, collectors, and editors—essential touchpoints for career progression in today’s competitive art world.
Importantly, Cluster's commitment to emerging talent extends beyond the selected resident. We are working closely with galleries, agencies, and creative organizations to ensure that every applicant benefits from the process. By treating the entire application pool as a vibrant source of potential, we aim to create ongoing opportunities for commissions, collaborations, and career advancement for a broader community of artists.
